Lorene Richardson

Lorene Richardson Oct. 4, 1917 - Dec. 31, 2013 Resident of Martinez Lorene, at the age of 96, went home to be with her Lord on December 31, 2013, with her family at her bedside in Martinez. 58 years ago she, her husband, and children left Oklahoma and settled in Martinez. She learned how to make draperies and had R & C Draperies for many years. As a very young girl, she plowed the fields behind a team of horses and worked hard all of her life until she broke her hip in 2008. She has made many friends and though her life was not an easy one, it was a fabulous journey. Lorene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Chester Richardson, her son Billy Gene, daughter, Bobbie Jo, and grandson, Randy. She is survived by her children, Royce of Lincoln, CA, and Loretta, Theda, & Markita of Martinez, a sister, Mary, in Citrus Heights, CA and a brother Bob, in Texas, 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 19 great, great grandchildren. She was also blessed with countless, wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, between 3:00 and 8:00pm at Connolly & Taylor mortuary, 4000 Alhambra Ave., Martinez with funeral services at the same location on Wednesday, January 8th , 2014, 11:00am.
