Jacqueline Trifeletti Obituary

Jacqueline Trifeletti
Jan 10, 1921 - Jan 13, 2014
Resident of Danville
Jacqueline "Jackie" Trifeletti, was born on Jan. 10, 1921 in a small fishing village in Trapani Sicily. At 9 months old she and her mother left Sicily and arrived in New York's Ellis Island to join her Father, Dominic Belletti, who had come to the US one year earlier. They left New York and settled in Detroit, Michigan, where young Jackie enjoyed school and playing basketball. The family moved to Southgate, Los Angeles, when Jackie was about 12 years old. At an early age she learned to take care of the home and tend to her two brothers, Gerald and Mike. Her mother and father were both working to support the family. Jackie became a wonderful cook, specializing in Italian delicacies. She could prepare meals with short notice to everyone's pleasure. After High School she worked and attended college as her goal was to become a nurse. She met a man named Carmine Trifeletti called "Triff" and they married in 1942. Her first child, Frank was born in 1943. Her husband went off to WW2 and Jackie became one of the "Rosie the Riveter's" working at Douglas Aircraft putting aircraft wings together. After the war her husband moved the family to San Jose, Ca and her second child, Shelia Maria Trifeletti was born. After 7 years in San Jose the family moved to Redwood City, CA, were they resided for 45 years. Jackie moved to Danville Ca in 2003.
Jackie enjoyed her family the most. She was involved in many activities including arts and crafts. She would volunteer her time at the local hospital where she would assist and teach others the art of painting and pottery making. During the summer months, as Frank and Sheila were growing up, water skiing become the family outing. Jackie who never learned to swim would put on several life jackets and get on two skis and be pulled around the lake or Delta to the delight of her husband.
Jackie and her husband were long time members of the "Sons of Norway". Triff's business partner was Norwegian and he convinced them to join. Jackie would cook spaghetti and meatballs for over 300 at their annual dinner. Both Triff and Jackie had a good sense of humor and enjoyed good laughs.
Triff and Jackie enjoyed traveling and took several trips to Europe and visited family in Italy. Her favorite travels were the many cruises they took. They visited China as well as Japan. Jackie and Triff were 4 months shy of a 50 year marriage.
Jackie is survived by her son, Frank Trifeletti and his wife Sharon of Danville and her two beloved brothers, Gerald Belletti of Long Beach, CA and Mike Belletti of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Jackie leaves four grandchildren, Deborah Wat, David Trifeletti, Jackie Smith, and Lisa Gozo. Jackie also has 12 great grandchildren, all who she spoke of with great pride and joy.
Her family will miss her and treasure forever the woman who gave so much to others.
