Esther SALVESEN

Esther Amelia Salvesen Jan. 31, 1925 ~ May 28, 2010 Resident of Danville Esther was born in Ryder, ND, to Lambert and Hilda Braasch. She married Gerald S. Salvesen on October 27, 1949 in North Dakota and they started out married life in Staten Island, NY. She was a registered nurse until the birth of her two children. They moved to Murray Hill, NJ in 1971, where they lived until moving to Danville in 1987 after her husband retired from Exxon. She enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother. Esther is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gerald of Danville, her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and AI Richey of San Ramon, her daughter-in-law, Karen Salvesen Sykes, of Portola Valley, 4 grandchildren, Kraig Salvesen, W. Eric Richey, Kimberley Sykes, Caroline Sykes and one brother, Carmi Braasch of North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Gerald Salvesen in 1983, her parents and 4 brothers. There will be a viewing at 11:00am, Friday, June 4, 2010, followed by a service at 12 noon in the Redwood Chapel, and concluding with a graveside committal; all at Oakmont Memorial Park and Mortuary, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd., Lafayette, CA.
