Robert George Meisenheimer passed away Sunday March 17th at home with his Wife by his side, surrounded by his Family. He touched many lives with his generous spirit and positive, enthusiastic outlook on life.
Robert (Bob) was born in Parlier and raised in Fresno by his parents Elsie and Baze with his two younger brothers Dick and Jack. Bob later attended Fresno State University and University of California-Berkeley achieving his Doctorate in Theoretical Physics. After meeting and marrying the love of his life, they moved to Northern California where they had two children. Bob worked for Shell oil labs and later Lawrence Livermore Lab where he retired from in his 80's. Bob and his Family were members of Fresno Friends Quaker Church and later were one of the founders of Walnut Creek Friends Church where he and his Wife attend and are deeply dedicated to this day. Bob enjoyed mountain climbing and golfing and spending time with his Family.
Bob is survived by his devoted Wife Ella, Daughter Carol Painter of Antioch, Granddaughter Michelle Jones of Pleasant Hill, Grandson Thom Painter of Concord and Grandson Lane Meisenheimer of Antioch. Bob was also blessed with 4 Great Grandson's James, Thomas, Ryan and Thomas Aquinas. Bob is also survived by Sister in law Jean McPherson of Fresno and Jane Meisenheimer of Fresno.
Friends and Family are invited to a viewing Friday March 22nd from 5-8pm and funeral Saturday March 23rd at 1pm at Oakmont Memorial Park and Mortuary 2099 Reliez Valley Road Lafayette. Burial to follow at Oakmont Memorial Park.
