Steve Gorecki departed from this world Christmas Eve, following a long battle with cancer. Steve worked in the produce industry for 40 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; devoted children, Christian, Valerie, Katie, Laura, Rachel, and Michael; son-in-law David White; grandchildren, Cienna, Connor, and Cyrus; and sister, Phyllis Clark. Donations can be made to Hospice of the East Bay.

If you had the honor of meeting Steve you were very lucky, he always left a wonderful upbeat lasting impression. A very respectful man who always spoke of his wife and childen with so much love and pride.

It was with such sadness and anguish that I just happened across Steve's Obituary. I am saddened. Steve was my best friend in our early youth on Amberwood Ln., in Walnut Creek. My Dad taught Steve to swim and was always so proud to tell that story of how seriously Steve paid attention to him and the respect that Steve always showed to all of us. In my mind I knew that you and Steve were still in or about the area. We had left and worked all around and I failed to reconnect. That also saddens me as we have "grown up". Bless all of you in and around Steve and his Life.

Larry called me tonight to tell me about Steve. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Steve was and always will be one of the good guys, always cheerful, laughing, and happy. Just a great friend to ever have the privilege of knowing.
