Alexandra Balaban Provenzano, of Walnut Creek, CA, passed into the loving arms of Our Heavenly Father on December 27, 2013 after a brave battle with cancer. Alexandra was born on June 26, 1952, in Montreal Canada and grew up in New York, where she met and married the love of her life, Jim Provenzano. Alexandra was called to the medical field and received her degree in nursing. As a Registered Nurse, she extended her gift of caring not only to her patients, but colleagues, friends and everyone she encountered. Her greatest joy was her family. Her faith, gentle grace, generosity, kindness of spirit and strength of heart were felt by all who were blessed to know her. She loved to laugh and lived life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olga and Basil Balaban. She is survived by her loving husband, James V. Provenzano, and her sisters, Anna Golden of Melville NY, with husband David and their children Jamie, Lisa and Jessie; and Maria Cook of Dallas, TX, with husband, Ray and their family; as well as innumerable family and friends. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday January 8 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church, 1650 Ygnacio Valley Road, Walnut Creek CA 94598. Followed by a reception in the church hall.Memorials may be made to St. John Vianney Church or a charity of your choice.
