Avis Hamilton Obituary
June 30, 1927 - July 31, 2013
Resident of Danville
Avis was raised in Hobart, Indiana. At fourteen years of age she met, and five years later married her childhood sweetheart, Charles Hamilton. In 1953 they moved to Sacramento, California, and settled in Danville in 1972.
Avis attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Creek. She was active in the ministry for over 30 years visiting the elderly and shut-ins in nursing homes weekly.
Avis loved to golf and was a part of the 18 Hole Ladies Golf Group of Castlewood Country Club.
Avis is preceded in death by her mother, Wally Truitt and her brother Eugene Truitt.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Charles, children Dirk Hamilton of Plano Texas, Kim Malavey of Sonora, Tamara Hamilton-Williams (Terry) of Stockton. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Chavis and Phoebe Hamilton, Romy, Shyle (Martha), Molly and Logan Malavey, Bret (Wendi), Tyler (Melissa), Rory Williams, and her great-grandson, Howard Charles. She also will be missed by her faithful canine companion, Stretch.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 17th, 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2317 Buena Vista Avenue, Walnut Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice of East Bay.

Thank you, dear cousins, for your support and love. Mom will be missed terribly by not only our family, but all those that she touched. She never had a harsh word to say to anyone. She was happy when WE were happy. May her memory be eternal.

Aunt Avis will be missed by all of us. Her cheerfulness, generous heart, and loving nature is a memory that can bring a smile to each of our faces. Uncle Chuck, Dirk, Kim, Tammy and all her grandchildren that she loved so much will be in my prayers each day. May you each find the strength to carry on her legacy of love as she would want. I love you all.

Aunt Avis was always cheerful and loving to me. When I visted in Cali or at Grandma's house in Hobart. Even though we only saw each other once in a while, she always let me know I was loved. Uncle Charles, Kim,Tami and Durk Jane and I offer you our sympathy and prayers.

My Aunt Avis, U always made me happy with your laughter.. you will always have a special place in my heart. When ever I missed a putt or hit one out of bounds I thought about how u would say "Oh Jimmy gosh darn it, get the next one up there." It made everything ok.. Love Always your nephew jimmy.
