Charles Coyle, 85, died peacefully on December 9, 2013. He joins his wife, GeorgeAnne, and dogs, Sophie and Flora, in heaven. He is survived by his daughter and her family. Charles was born in Chicago, Illinois, and came to California with his wife in 1952. He worked as a civics and history teacher and later as a counselor at Oak Grove Intermediate in Concord. He enjoyed golf, bridge, reading mystery novels, spoiling his pets, and cheering for the Notre Dame football team and the Chicago White Sox.
At Charles' request, no services will be held. Donations in his memory may be made to Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation, 2890 Mitchell Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94598 or http://www.arf.net

I remember Mr Coyle from junior high in the early seventies. He was "cool" and a good man to those of us who thought we were too.
