Born in Oakland to Ronald John and Carolyn Joy Freeman Herman, Christian grew up in Orinda, attended Del Rey Elementary, Orinda Intermediate and graduated from Miramonte High School in 1982. He studied at Harvard and graduated from Principia College with a BS in Math in '87 followed by a Masters in Industrial Engineering from UC Berkeley in '89.
After several years' experience in software design working with Andersen Consulting and Allin Consulting, Christian ran his own business, CJH Solutions, beginning in 1999. In 2013 he devoted his full talents as an employee of Brown and Caldwell.
Christian was selfless, dedicated, and very humble. He enjoyed giving of his time and talents to the community. For Christian family was his top priority, but he was also very dedicated to his job and coworkers, his friends, his CAL Bears and all of us fortunate enough to have inhabited this world with him. He loved cheering on his daughter's volleyball team and enjoyed building and repairing computers with his son. He was also a devoted member of his church and loved teaching Sunday School.
Christian is survived by his wife, Wendy (Carroll) Herman, children, Matthew Jordan and Emma Francine. He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn Herman, brother, Merit, his wife, Kimberly and their twins, McKenna and Preston Herman, his sister, Harmony and her husband, David "Sus" Susalla.
