EDWARD SCHNABEL, 24 yr resident of Pleasant Hill, CA, beloved husband of 44 yrs to Lucy (Mucha), father of Brian J. and Craig E. (Maria Rubio), grandfather to Nicholas (Tamaru) and Isabella, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 10, 2013. Born in New Britain, CT, served honorably in the US Army, and moved his family to CA in '89. Ed was Finance Director for the Employee Benefits Division for the Travelers Ins. Co. until '93 when it was sold. He, his wife and partners owned and operated Premiere Travel Services in Walnut Creek. He was a Rotarian for several years, joined SIR of Concord and P.H. CERT. He really enjoyed Hawaiian Music, playing golf with friends, and spending time with his grandkids, especially his best buddy and Lil princess, Isabella. Besides his family in CA, Ed leaves behind family and many friends still residing in CT. This lovely and generous man touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial reception and celebration of his life will be held at the CoCo DSA Hall, 1780 Muir Rd., Martinez, CA on Sat., Aug. 24th at 2pm. Donations may be made to your favorite charity, the Amer. Red Cross or the Amer. Heart Association.
