I just found out about his passing yesterday when his mother called my mother for her birthday. Our mothers worked together for many years. He took me to my Senior Prom. He took me to see the first Star Wars movie. We always had a great time! He was a great friend. I was very sad to hear of his passing.

Scott,

I was deeply saddened by the news of Ernie passing. My heart felt condolences to you and your family. Just know that my arms are wrapped around you during this time of loss.
May you take comfort in knowing an Angel is watching over you.

Ernie is truly a brave, wonderful person, a loyal friend, very intelligent, big-hearted and geniually care about people. I am blessed to have him in my life!

We had spent many festive events & they were all great times! As a teacher of dance, my favorite memories when I was dancing hip hop/free style with Ernie where at one time he “wore me out” because of his fluidity and sometimes unusual control over his dance movements, especially the changes in his energy, and the dynamics of a sequence, of style . . . “John Travolta “Saturday Night Fever.” Ernie -Continue dancing in heaven and charm all the Angels!

I hope you get a little comfort in knowing how much your dad loved you and very proud of you

I will miss him but he will not be forgotten!

Dear Woodfeldt family,
I know that this is a difficult time, but we all know that Ernie is with our heavenly father and waiting for the rest of us.
Ernie's most joy was his son Scott. He always loved to speak about Scott's latest achievement. God gave you the best father. You are truly blessed.
We worked at then PacBell in the same area but would find time to discuss our walk with Jesus. He was always so thoughtful and kind. I can't say that I've ever met another person with his traits. A real blessing to have known.
See you Ernie, in heaven.

Dear Scott and Family,

It was a true blessing to know Ernie. I'm thankful for his time with me; for all our conversations and life lessons; for the joy he brought to me and so many.

Scott, I haven't met you yet, but from the little we have talked and everything Ernie told me, I know you will continue his ministry of compassion and service.

Please, know that I am praying for you all and all who are missing him, for peace that passes all understanding, for the strength to carry on in our daily lives without him, and for the knowledge of the kingdom to come and our reuniting with him again and with Jesus.

Scott, I'm so glad you and your dad came over for dinner about a week and a half prior to his surprise departure. God wanted him home for which I am happy to know I will see him again in Heaven. Playing games, his love for you Scott, chit chatting wherever we "bumped" into each other, me coming over with a cooked meal, whatever the reason it was always fun sharing our ideas and concerns as well as prayer requests. Heaven has gained a wonderful man while we adjust to his leaving us so quickly.

Readers, Whoever you are and whatever part you had in Ernie's life he would want you to know that he loved you and wants you to know the God he calls Lord and Savior so you too can see him in Heaven when it's your turn. (John 3:16) Please take this seriously for Ernie's sake. Best regards,

Pauline & Oliver Orr

No farewell words were spoken

No time to say goodbye

And only God knows why.

Ernie,
When we left the PMF monthly meeting this month, you stopped me at my car. We talked about our sons and laughed about a few things. I drove away with a good feeling after talking to you. Your love and respect for your family, our common respect for our sons military service has given us such a great sense of pride.. Scott , I don't have to tell you how proud your Pop was of you.. He loved talking about you and everything you were up to.. I can easily speak for PMF in saying his company at the meetings and events will be terribly missed.. Rest in Peace Ernie..

Ernie was a great guy! We had lots of adventures...Mexico riding the banana boat (what a great belly laugh that got from him!), the re-vamp of the house, game nights, Thai food, Halloween Dances at the Blackhawk Auto Museum, meeting his friends, phone calls, the list goes on. And we worked together too - through good days and the other ones. He was a very loyal friend and I will miss him greatly. My deepest sympathy and hugs to Ernie's family.

He became my brother in law when he married Luchie Valencia. Even though things changed Ernie remained a brother in law as Luchie is still a sister in law to me. Ernie will be missed but I am honored to have an awesome nephew in the man that Scott is becoming! I guess I haven't lost a brother in law if his memory remains...

Cheers Ernie!

We'll really miss Ernie, his friendly smile, his pure joy and fluidity on the dance floor and his funny sense of humor. He raised a fine son in Scott, and I know Ernie will be looking after him from heaven. He was very sharp, witty, financially savvy and hardworking, but most of all, he was big-hearted and really cared about people. RIP, dear friend.

Dear Scott and family...... I dated Ernie for four years from 1995. We had been friends ever since and I cherished our friendship more than anything. I always said "you're the smartest person I know" but more than that he was the kindest most caring person I knew. I can't believe he's gone but am sure he's in a better place now. God bless Scott, Lois, Paula, Rita, and the rest of the family

Dear Scott and Family,
Our deepest sympathies for your loss. Ernie was a fantastic man and great neighbor. We were in touch since we moved in 2002. When we last spoke a few months ago, he was saying how proud he was of Scott and his accomplishments and what a fine young man he had become. Scott . . . I hope you get a little comfort in knowing how much your dad loved you and how proud he was of you.
