James Moran Obituary
April 19, 1924 - March 24, 2013
Resident of Pleasanton
Born and raised in Oakland. All County, All City Basketball and Baseball at Roosevelt High School in Oakland. Served in the Navy in WWII. Played for the San Francisco Seals after the service until the mid 50's. His automobile career included General Manager at Lloyd a Wise in Oakland, ownership of Fidelity Oldsmobile in Berkeley and finally Jim Moran Oldsmobile in Fremont. He worked part time at Don Signer Buick Cadillac in Fremont/Newark just to work with his son. Married with three children. His wife and daughter preceded him in death. He leaves behind two children Jim (Mickie) and Robin. Three grandsons, Brandon, Jim, Jeff and Jeffs' son Jameson his great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, from 5-8pm with a Vigil at 6:30pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 3, 11am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, 94536. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 1-800-877-4159 www.stjude.org.

I'm really sorry to hear about Jim. My Dad always spoke very highly of Jim, as a ballplayer and as a businessman. I think of these two great SF Seals every time I see a classic Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme drive by! They were truly from the "Greatest Generation".

When I was a young SEALS fan Jim was one of my favorite players. He a very smooth 2nd baseman and was one of finest players the SEALS ever had.

Jim, I went to Bishop O'Dowd and you were a year behind me. My parents bought a car from your dad at the car dealership in Oakland around 105th Ave. I know that Coach LaPorte bought his cars there also. My prayers are with you. My best friend is Maureen Moran, I think your cousin.
