Resident of Pleasant Hill
Jeremy Paul Ficken passed away from pancreatic cancer. He waged a courageous battle against this devastating disease before it took his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Naomi, his two sons, Jack (8) and Luke (3), his mother, Bernadette Goodroe, stepfather, David Goodroe, and father, Paul Ficken. Jeremy was a graduate of the University of California, Davis. He was a devoted husband, one who loved to cycle and enjoy the outdoors, and was a doting father who cherished time with his sons. He was also a rising star in the field of Information Technology before his life came to an end entirely too soon.
A Celebration of Jeremy's Life will be held at the Orinda Country Club on July 7th at 3:00 p.m. where all that loved him are welcome to come and celebrate his 38 years and share memories to keep alive the spirit that was so uniquely Jeremy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Jack & Luke Ficken Family Trust and mailed to Wells Fargo Bank, 3630 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, CA 94549.

I love you Jeremy. We always were cool since the first day I met you in High school. I know that your in a better place bro. I hope your looking down on me now. I was hurt when I found out about you passing. We used to talk on FB messenger and then at some point I thought that we were not into FB at all. I did not know you ... :( I have cataloged all of my memories that we had together.

I only met Jeremy in late 2010, so I didn't know him for long, but he was a great friend to have. I always enjoyed talking to him. He did make the work a better place.

As a neighbor of the Fickens, I was always so happy to live near such a wonderful family. Jeremy was a loving, involved father and husband. Taken from his family way too early, this kind man.

I will cherish the memory of an amazing and caring man. My heart hangs heavy at the loss of such a great human being who knew the love of so very many. Jeremy, I will miss your friendship and watching you grow with your beautiful family. I feel lucky for having had over a decade of belly laughs because of your amazing wit and humor. My heart aches for your family and I love them. There are no words I can find to fully express my respect for you and how you waged battle for your life. You are nothing less than a hero. I feel a loss of my friend and this is unbelievable to me that the battle is over and that you are gone. But I know you will live on in Naomi's heart and in your gorgeous and amazing boys forever.

My deepest sympathy to you all. Jeremy was such a great man! I am so blessed that I got to meet and know him and his very large family!!!! What a blessing it was to be able to help in his care. I am sorry that I will not be able to be with you and your family to celebrate Jeremy's life. We will be in the state of Washington but I will be praying for you and your family. Having a son pass away before you is not easy, but I am glad you have a great family to help you out with the hard times.
