John passed away at his home in Walnut Creek California. Born in Fresno, California he moved with his family to San Francisco as a young boy. John joined the navy in 1941 where he served proudly aboard the USS Enterprise during WWII . John was proudly involved in numerous interviews, articles, books, and videos - recounting his time aboard the USS Enterprise - WWII and the great men and women he served his country with. After his service in the Navy John joined the San Francisco Police Department in 1949. After 25 years of service, including numerous citations for Meritorious conduct, he retired. A longtime resident of Danville California, John was very active as a horseman and supportive of many equestrian associations in the area including the Danville Jr. Horseman. John was a past commander of the VFW post # 75 in Danville- a Contra Costa Grand Jury member, and a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Martinez.
John is survived by his wife Adella Kellejian, and his three daughters - Laura Kellejian, Karen Kellejian, & Valerie Bellotti, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In His 91 years John served his country and his community with pride , bravery and honor. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at St. Isidore's Catholic Church , 440 La Gonda Way , Danville, CA, Tuesday January 14th at 10:30am.
The burial will be held on Tuesday January 21st at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno at 11:00 am.
