Myron Kochan passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home. He was a generous and giving man who always helped others any way he could. His door and his heart were always open.
Myron was born in Kalush, Ukraine. During WWII, he was only 15 years old when he voluntarily joined the Ukrainian Army to "watch over" his older brother. He loved Ukraine so much that he was willing to give his life to protect his homeland from Communism. As such, he never finished his high school education, but instead became a self-made man, letting life's experiences and common sense be his teacher. Myron came to the United States of America after WWII, for a new start in "the land of opportunity", and he definitely made the most of it. He eventually bought his own business and became the president of a material handling Manufacturing Corporation. He loved his adopted country so much, that he became an American citizen.
Myron is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie; devoted children Vera M. Kochan, John J. Kochan, and Michael S. Kochan (Lorna); grandchildren, Jason, Ryan and Kassondra Kochan. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Olga Doskocz; brother-in-law Jerry Doskocz; aunt Janja Dolynka; cousin Frank Dolynka; nephew John W. Kochan and nephew John W. Doskocz. His loving and guiding spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Myron was laid to rest on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1965 Reliez Valley Rd. Lafayette, CA. 94549.
