Patricia Horen was born in Hayward, CA and raised in Castro Valley, CA. For the past 14 years, she lived in Brentwood, CA. Pat is survived by her husband Joel, whom she was married to for 49 years, and her two daughters Deborah and Tamora, and three grandchildren Alex, Andy and Daniel. She is also survived by her sister Doreen and many extended family members.
As for Pat, her kids and family always came first. She was always there with an open ear and generous heart. Pat had that rare spirit of kindness and gentleness, but also a keen sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. She was a graduate of Hayward High (class of '62), where she played saxophone in the school marching band. She was involved in her church (First Southern Baptist of San Lorenzo) where she taught Sunday school for pre-schoolers - Pat really loved children and got a lot of joy from teaching them. She also played chimes and saxophone in the church music program.
Pat's career began at Montgomery Ward, in the catalog department, although most of her working years were spent at Pacific Bell/AT&T (37 years). She began there as directory assistance operator, then became a payroll clerk and finally passed the classes and tests with flying colors to successfully become a DSL testing technician.
She will be sorely and greatly missed
