Susan Jean Peterson Resident of Danville Susan passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2013 at 58, surrounded by her loving family. Susan is predeceased by father Robert Hurford Sr. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 8 years John Peterson. Susan is lovingly remembered by her daughter Ashley Bua of Los Angeles, CA; step-children Lindsey Sauter and Sean, Sarah and Ryan Peterson of Danville, CA; mother Jean Hurford of St. Louis, MO; sister Cheryl Reinersman, her husband Jim and their children Matthew, Mark, Megan, and Melissa of Godfrey, IL; brother Robert Hurford Jr. his wife Jennifer and their children Robert, Matt, and Kate of Jacksonville, FL. Susan was born in Detroit, MI on May 6, 1955. She graduated from Ballard High School in 1973 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in nursing from Spaulding College in 1977. She worked as neonatal intensive care unit nurse at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek; and previously at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, St. Louis Children's Hospital, and Massachusetts General. Susan enjoyed being at the beach, traveling, shopping trips with her daughter, playing with her beagle Zoe, and time with family and friends. Her joy in her life was seeing her daughter Ashley graduate from San Francisco State University and begin her life in a film career in Los Angeles.
