Obituary Condolences

Alan Charles Ahola June 12, 1948 - Dec. 26, 2007 Resident of Rossmoor Alan Ahola, long-time resident of Lafayette and Walnut Creek, died December 26, 2007; he was 59. A graduate of U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. in psychology, Alan served for many years as a guidance counselor for group homes in Mendocino and Contra Costa County. Alan will be loved and remembered for many things, including his kind spirit, intelligence and humor; the years playing marvelous jazz on saxophone and flute; his love of and dedication to family and the Lutheran Church; and, on the lighter side, his mastery of backgammon, dominoes and cribbage. Surviving Alan are his son, Ian Alan Davis of Santa Curz, and his grandchildren, Corbin, Emily and Aidan Davis; brother, Stephen Ahola, of Concord; cousins Richard Lea and Susanne Lea; and aunts Ruth Ollila and Hilja Karvonen; cousins in Minnesota. Alan was preceded in death by his parents Arne and Martha Ahola, and by his brother, David Ahola. A memorial service celebrating Alan's life will be held on Friday, January 11th at 1:00 p.m. at the Inspiration Chapel, Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd., Lafayette. A reception will be held on Sunday, January 13th after the 11:00 a.m. service at Hope Lutheran Church in the Delta Room of the Del Valle Clubhouse at Rossmoor.
