Albert DeRouen III, loving husband to Janice DeRouen, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, November 21, 2013.
Albert was born in New Iberia, Louisiana in 1929. After proudly serving his country during the Korean conflict, he raised his family in San Francisco and later Pleasant Hill. A respected tennis court contractor/owner of National Surfacing Company, Inc., since 1967, he worked tirelessly until his death. He was preceded in death by his youngest son Michael A. DeRouen (2001). Lovingly survived by his wife of 64 years; Janice DeRouen, two sons; Albert W. (Lynne) DeRouen and Andre J. (Stella) DeRouen and his daughter Yvette M. (Stephen) Figueroa. Albert was the eldest of nine siblings and leaves three sisters and two brothers to cherish his memory. An adored grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, he was an inspiration and hero to many and will be missed greatly.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, November 29th from 4-8 p.m. with Vigil Services at 6 p.m., Moore's Mission Funeral Home, 1390 Monument Blvd, Concord. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 30 at 11 a.m., Christ The King Church, 199 Brandon Road, Pleasant Hill. Interment Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette.
