1920 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Alfred J. (Baldie) Del Rossa Obituary
Alfred J. (Baldie) Del Rossa
Aug 5, 1920 - April 18, 2013
With a heavy heart the Del Rossa family of Antioch regrets to inform you that Alfred (AL) Del Rossa passed the morning of April 18th, 2013. To his family and friends he is known as Baldie. On the morning of Al's passing, his family was lucky to be by his side and share the last moments with such an amazing person. Al previously served honorably in the Medical Corps of the United States Navy during a time of war. Following his service to his country Al continued to serve his family by working for Fiber Board for 38 years, with another 15 years for DuPont. Al was a very active member of the Antioch Sports Club, played Lob ball, is a die-hard fisherman and A's fan (which he shares with his wife). He also shared a passion for going on trips through the senior citizen society with his wife. Al spent his spare time building race boats with his son who raced them; and, Al never missed one of his son's races. Al's daughter, on the other hand, has a special place in her daddy's heart that no one can replace. Those two shared a bond that words can not begin to describe. He spent numerous hours building houses with his son and grandsons. He is a man that most strive to be, but never succeed. To Al, he prided himself on serving his country, providing for his family, serving his children, grandchildren and even his great great granddaughter who lights up Al's face every time he sees her. One might ask, how does a man serve his kids, grandchildren, etc. The answer is, he did so by never missing a sports game of theirs, helping with school projects, and never missing a chance to spend time with them. Needless to say Al is a wonderful father, husband, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Geneva Del Rossa and his two children Ronnie Del Rossa and Barbara Graham. Al will be missed by the many people who lives' he touched. We all love you and you will not be forgotten. Come say your final goodbye to Al and wish him luck to his next chapter. The viewing is Thursday the 25th at 5pm-7pm at Acacia Society Rivertown Chapel (1205 A Street, Antioch) followed by graveside services Friday the 26th 11am at Oak View Cemetery. P.S. Gramps , I miss you but know in my heart you will always be with us. I did not get a chance to tell you recently, but I love you as we all do. Rest well.
