Anthony Stephen Finco, 80, long time resident of Dublin, CA, died peacefully at home in the early morning on May 9, 2013. The son of Anton and Anna Finco of Ironwood, Michigan (previously Gallio, Italy), he was the husband of Barbara Jean Martin Finco. Before marriage he served in the
United States Air Force
including an assignment at Camp Parks. He worked for US Steel, Singer Corporation, Envirotech, and retired from BSP where he served as controller. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 7987.
He will always be remembered for his famous spaghetti served at the East Bay Stand Down, an outreach event for homeless veterans. We will remember him for her humor, loyalty, and vitality - and, in the words of a friend, for being a "glorious neighbor."
He is survived by his son, Andrew Joseph Finco and his wife, Sue of American Canyon, CA, his daughters, Linda Joann Finco of Ridgecrest, CA and Laura Fern Finco and her partner, April Ronca of Dublin, CA, two granddaughters, Michelle Reyes and Melissa Varagon, two great grandsons and a great granddaughter, his sisters, Antonette Gould and Eleanore Mondl, numerous nieces and nephews along with countless great nieces and nephews. He was also loved by his many grand-puppies.
There will be a vigil service for Anthony on Monday, May 13 at 7 pm at Graham-Hitch Mortuary, located at 4167 First St, Pleasanton, CA . Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, May 14 at 10 am in St. Raymond's Catholic Church, located at 11555 Shannon Ave, Dublin, CA. Military Honors and Burial will take place Wednesday, May 15 at 11 am at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, located at 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, CA In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Hope Hospice, Dublin.
