Ben Dial, a retired executive of Pacific Telesis died Sunday in Vallejo, California. He was 84.
A California native, Ben lived in Lafayette for 36 years. He was an avid traveler, reader and philanthropist. Ben was always learning and always giving of his time.
His generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to his family and friends and the many people he met on his travels.
He is a Graduate of Whittier College and held a MBA in Business Administration. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Ben was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jacqueline Byer Dial. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Lesly Dial, his daughter Lisa Clair Dial of Tampa Florida, his son Scott Byer Dial of Stockton, step daughters Maria Jose Burgos and Rayza Burgos and 3 grandchildren, Chloe, Ethan and Dylan.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Hulls Chapel at 10:00am with burial at Alamo-Lafayette Cemetery District in Lafayette.
