Bernard "Mac" McElroy July 2, 1940 - Sept. 15, 2012 Resident of Martinez Bernard "Mac" McElroy passed away peacefully surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra, his children Julie and Steven, son in law, Carlos, as well as his brothers Harry of Martinez, Peter of Northern Ireland, Hugo of Delaware, and sister Irene of Northern Ireland. Mac was a long time resident of Martinez where he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and beagle, Jake. He was born and raised in Northern Ireland where he spent the early part of his life. He immigrated to Canada and then moved to Martinez where he met and married his true love and best friend. He worked at C & H Sugar for 32 years ending his career as a Warehouse Superintendent. He loved to play golf and was known for his sense of humor and kind heart. Mac will always be remembered as a loving husband, amazing father, and dear friend. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. A rosary will be held at Connolly and Taylor Chapel in Martinez on Friday, September 21, 2012. Viewing will be from 4-8pm.
