Blanche Davis Obituary

Blanche Davis
Nov. 16, 1925-July 5, 2011
Resident of Walnut Creek
Blanche passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on July 5, 2011 following a long illness.
Blanche's kindness and caring nature will be missed by all that love her.
Blanche was born November 16, 1925 in Bloomingdale, New Jersey, one of the four children of Ernest and Hazel Van Orden. Having an adventurous spirit she
traveled to California in 1946 where she met and married the love of her life, Bill. They moved to Walnut Creek in 1955 where she has resided since.
Blanche was the school secretary at Walnut Creek Elementary and Intermediate Schools. While working and raising her children she graduated from San Francisco State, earned her teaching credential, Resource Specialist Certification, and became a gifted teacher.
A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, her first passion was her home and family. She loved spending time outdoors, be it at home in Walnut Creek or at the Donner Lake cabin. She instilled her love of nature in her three children and her grandson, Andy. When not outdoors, Blanche enjoyed reading and spending time with her close friends. She was admired and cherished by her family and friends for her gentle and caring heart.
Blanche is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Bill, daughters Kathrine Kell of Walnut Creek, Dorothy Rasmussen of Murphys, CA, son Bill Jr. of Sweethome, OR, grandsons Andy Kell of Walnut Creek, and Alexander Davis of Twin Falls, ID.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011, 2:00 PM at North Creek Church, 2255 Ygnacio Valley Rd. Walnut Creek.
