Charles passed peacefully at home with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Evelyn Edgecombe Pratt; sons Charlie Jr.(Christina) of Sacramento and Michael D.(Sandra) of Martinez; and grandchildren Todd of N.D., Daniel of Sacramento, Taylor of San Ramon and Jason and Janelle of Martinez. In-laws include Richard and Doris Blessing of Antioch and Lawrence Edgecombe of Concord. He was preceded in death by parents Emery and Artrude Pratt of San Francisco.
Charles was involved in the pleasant Hill community thru Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Coaching PHBA Little League, Pleasant Hill Rebels Pop Warner 1974 Champions, and was on the original DeLaSalle Football Coaching staff. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and retired from Pacific Bell after 36 years. Charles was a gentle giant, a leader of young men, forever encouraging and never losing sight of hope. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation and Celebration of his life will be from 4 to 8PM with a service beginning at 5PM on Monday July 9, 2012 At Oakmont's Redwood Chapel. Private interment.
