I miss our friendship just as much today as when you left to be with Jesus. I treasure the memories of every moment of our friendship--our laughter still dances in the wind. The joy of amazing genealogy road trips with Joyce, Susan, Paula, Jane and others.. I stop by the cemetery and make certain all is okay and remember our laughter. Glad you are resting with Jesus and other family and friends.

It has been almost a year and I've miss you every single day, my dear friend. It has been a long year without you. I visit yours and Mark's resting place frequently. What an extraordinary friend you were! Your lasting wisdom and influence continues to make my world a better place. Thank you!

Sorry, I was hoping she had just changed her email address and hadn't told me. I knew her through genealogy, the LEHEW/LAHUE surname to be exact. When I was first starting out she helped me a lot and was great. When she and some friends came down for the LA Genealogy Jamboree (2008 I believe) I drove up to meet her for lunch. She was the sweetest thing - had some papers for me and was just having a blast. I'm writing this with tears in my eyes, I'm sad knowing that she is not around any more. I wish her family and friends all the best. She was a wonderful woman!!

Dear Eileen, We had so much fun growing up in Brooklyn. I
was so fortunate to be among such friends as you, Maureen,
Natalie (my cousin), Pat, Margie and Joan. In the pattern of our days, in many special ways, you made a difference from the start, and though I miss you now, I always feel somehow
we're still in touch at heart. Love, Fran 'Bono' Krueger

Aunt Eileen was a very strong woman and had a great sense of humor. She was quick to smile and laugh. I am so grateful that we were able to go to Ireland as a family 3 years ago. I know it was especially meaningful to her because of her love of genealogy We were all so happy to be where Nana was born and raised. Her trip to New York 2 years ago was fun. It gave us the opportunity to do some sight-seeing and go to a play. She was full of energy (more so than most of us) and we did so much with the family. I also feel blessed to have gotten to California in March with my siblings. That was a wonderful trip that I will never forget. You will be truly missed. Love, Teresa O'Leary (Monroe, NY)

Eileen was a very dear and wonderful friend of mine for a number of years. She, Joyce Siason and I started the Livermore-Amador Genealogical Society's Tri-Valley TMG Users Group many years ago. We along with several other very close friends went on genealogy research trips together, met at her house monthly for "data entry parties" to get family history into our software applications. Eileen was always quietly volunteering and helping in the background of L-AGS events. She helped edit and mailed our Roots Tracer journal for years, indexed Livermore area old records, edited flyers, helped organize workshops and seminars, worked at the L-AGS genealogy booth at the Alameda County Fair, was membership co-chair, belonged to a number of local, states and national organizations, helped cook meals for those in need. She especially loved indexing vital records remotely for Ireland. She loved her family, daughters, grandsons, nieces and nephews. Her trip with them to Ireland was a most treasured life event. She was Brooklyn style even after all her years in California. We were always looking for the perfect photo of the Brooklyn Bridge to be used as her computer's background photo. Eileen, I was blessed to call you a dear and close friend, my "partner in crime" and genealogy research buddy. You were always the organized one amongst us. You have blessed the lives of many, especially me. I know you are up there in heaven, scolding all those Smith ancestors who insisted on staying hidden amongst old Brooklyn records, evading discovery. Now you are dancing with them amongst the stars. You defined true friendship. You are missed! How I'll miss our daily phone calls. Now you are free to fly, no pain, a Child of God. Until we meet again my friend....Love you always!
P.S. If you run into any of my ancestors who are also hidding from discovery tell them I said hello and could use their help! Earthly clues are welcomed for my family tree. I'll watch for the rainbow of promise and think of you.
