I was shocked to see Gene had died. I spent the summer with them when I was 17 and had the time of my life. I am Dor's brother.

Gene Callahan and the entire Callahan family included me in family adventures in the 70's. Camping in the desert, and backpacking in the mountains. Gene was a great role model. I am sorry for your loss.

Although I was only ten when you enlisted and went away to war, you were my personal war hero. I remember writing almost every day and looking forward to the V-Mails I received back. Ever after, you were my big brother, and wherever you were, I knew I could always count on you.
