Staci, as Godparents for Wyatt, you will always have our family as part of yours. I am sorry that we only were able to help with the boys for one night while we came, but just know that both of them will be in our lives forever. Miss you so much, Gordie! Kris and Joe Wilson

I was heartbroken to read the news of Gordie's passing. From 1968 thru 1972 I had the privilege of babysitting Sharon and Nate's wonderful kids. I remember Gordie and a sweet, sensitive boy. My love goes out to all the family. The Ball family will always hold a special place in my heart

I went on a hike after the service -- I thought about Gordie.
I first met Gordie through soccer, I believe. Nate was our coach. I attended some elementary school and junior high with Gordie. He then went off to DLS and I to Northgate. Unfortunately, our lives didn't cross again after that.
I have several early memories of Gordie... I think my favorites involve his laugh. Gordie's laugh was an attention grabber. His laugh was infectious. He laughed like someone who was really enjoying himself. Although I haven't heard Gordie's laugh in about 30 years, I still remember it -- vividly.
Thanks to Gordie's family for sharing him.

Dear Staci, Nathan, Wyatt, Ralphie, & All The Ball Family-
In the short time I knew Gordie, I can tell you he was one of the kindest, most easy-going, attentive fathers I had ever known. I would come to the house when Staci was on a business trip to watch both kids, and he would opt to take Nathan out for 3 hours. He loved those boys with all his heart! He taught Nathan all about sports, and would even bring Wyatt to his music classes. Also, 3 weeks ago, my car ran out of gas and I called Gordie. He loaded his truck with Wyatt (who had a cold), and Ralphie (his Jack russel terrior), in the rain and came to my rescue. He then followed me to the gas station to make sure I was ok.
It was the simple things in life that Gordie enjoyed most; family, friends, sports, and construction work. I can tell you from knowing this family, that they are one of the most loving and close-knit families I know. This is such a tragedy for all involved. You taught me a lot about what life is all about, thank you Gordie. May you rest in Peace and watch over your beautiful family and friends! We will miss you.
All My Love & Support,
Nadya

Gordie,
You were my best friend in third grade and we lived every little boys dream of you climbing on your fathers tractors and then running though my family's ranches on red wagons. I still remember how excited we both were when your Dad bought an Army Jeep and drove us around the neighborhood. I genuinely miss you and look forward to when we can once again together play in the fields above,,,, running, laughing and exploring like children we once were… Until we meet again, my best to you.

Gordie was one of the first friends I made at De La Salle. Like everyone, I was shocked to hear about his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends for their tremendous loss. There are no words to express the surprise, sorrow and anguish felt upon receiving the news about Gordie. He was a wonderful addition to our extended family. Joel will never forget the wedding golf tourney when he and Gordie crashed in the golf cart ejecting Joel without spilling Joel's beer. Gordie and Joel, unhurt, got back in the cart, didn't win, but had a great time. Gordie's love for his family and children has been demonstrated by the caring nurturing way he spent time teaching, playing and enjoying them. Everlasting life is made from the moments shared with loved ones. Gordie will on live all of our hearts and memories forever.

To a true great friend for 30 years. From high school, to getting married, to having kids you were always the same which is what made you such a loved person. For all of the great times and trips that we had, thanks and you will never, ever be forgotten.

My thoughts and prayers have not stopped since I heard the news. Gordie, I'll never forget our first meeting or how you would tell the story of how we arrived on location to gather bricks at your construction site downtown. Kev showing up with "family" in tow in the "family car". Or when we had you watch the beagles and Cisco escaping from your make shift enclosure, while Java and Ralphie looked on. I'll keep that cute dimpled smile of yours in memory always. You will be missed sorely by so many friends and family.
