Lois "Big Mom" Barlettani
Mar. 14, 1928-Nov. 1, 2013
Resident of Martinez, CA
Lois Barlettani left us on Friday afternoon, November 1, 2013, following a very short illness. She touched many lives and will always be remembered as "Big Mom" to all of us. Her generous and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Lois was born in Martinez, CA, and graduated from Alhambra High School. She worked for a short time at Tidewater in Martinez but dedicated the majority of her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, sewing and playing all kinds of card games. She had a special fondness for cats and always had a couple that had adopted her.
Lois was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Mary Bartolomei. She was married to the love of her life, Sabatino "Babe" Barlettani who passed away in 1995.
She is survived by her children Barry Barlettani (Alice) and Darlene Long both of Martinez and grandchildren, Kim Andelin (George) of Folsom and Justin Long (Debra) of Martinez. She is also survived by great granddaughters, Jessica and Nicole Andelin of Folsom and great grandson, Larry Raymer and his daughters, Jennessy and Kailey Raymer of Oakley. She will also be greatly missed by her 2 cats, Rosie and Spyder Bill.
A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who gave her exceptional care in the Emergency Department and the ICU at Kaiser Walnut Creek.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Concern for Cats online at
or mailed to CC4C, P.O. Box 3795, Walnut Creek, CA, 94598
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Her Life on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Redwood Chapel at Oakmont Mortuary. Internment to follow.
