Louise Owens Obituary
Louise Owens
Feb. 2, 1927 - Jan.4, 2014
Walnut Creek
Louise was the last of six children born to Anna Peterson and Frank Walker in Osceola, Nebraska. The family moved to Richmond, CA where Louise graduated from Richmond High School. She played saxophone in the high school band and was enrolled at UOP to study music. She changed her plan to marry Sam Gianfortone, and they raised three children, Christine, Russ and Greg.
Her love of music lived on as she continued playing the saxophone and piano for friends and family. She played in small bands, namely "The Hot Flashes" at social and country club events at Mira Vista, where she was a member for many years.
Louise was an avid card player and golfer. She loved Bridge and Poker and was thrilled after making a hole-in-one. She also loved to dance, West Coast Swing was a favorite.
She loved having parties for friends and family. Her creative flare resulted in entertainment and fun for all.
Louise loved bringing people together. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her sense of humor, her love of life in spite of many hardships, and her music.
She is survived by her daughter Christine Gonzales, grandson Jeff Wayne, granddaughter Camden Gonzales and great-grandson Hudson Wayne.
Her final resting place is at Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito.
