Noriko I. Byrd, 66, of Danville, CA died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at home, in the company of her family, after a valiant battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Takashi Iidaka of Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan. Born in Yawata, Saku-shi, Nagano-ken, Japan and raised in Tokyo, she graduated from Toyo Eiwa Jogakuin (high school), and earned a B.S. in Accounting from California State University in Long Beach. Her professional career included several companies, museums and accounting firms in the Walnut Creek, CA area. She also enjoyed the friendships and growth she experienced with the American Association of University Women.
Surviving to cherish her memories are her mother, Kiyoko Iidaka of Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan; husband of 40 years, Hebron F. Byrd, Jr. of Danville, CA; son, Erick Byrd of San Ramon, CA; daughter, Mira and husband, Joseph Moss of Danville, CA; and two grandchildren, Tommy and Charlie Moss.
Friends and family are invited to a 10:30 AM memorial service on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Walnut Creek, CA., reception with refreshments to follow.
