Olivia passed away peacefully at her home with her daughter and granddaughters by her side. Olivia was born in South Dakota and was raised in Lodi, California. She married Edwin Gieck in 1941. They settled in Oakland in 1955 to raise their daughters, where Olivia worked as a cookie packer at Sunshine Biscuits for 17 years. Widowed, she married John Campbell in 1973. They briefly resided in Alameda and relocated to Pleasanton. They enjoyed traveling and spending time fishing and hunting. Olivia also worked as a volunteer for Kaiser Pleasanton for 34 years. Olivia's greatest pleasure was watching grandchildren Allie, Garret and Natalie play sports. Her quiet dignity and kind heart gained her many friends, and her family will miss her greatly.
She joins John in heaven, as well as, Edwin and their children, Richard Gieck and Evelyn Testa, her parents, John and Katherine Dais, brothers Albert and Samuel, and sister Ella Cordis. She is survived by daughter Patricia Finch of Fremont, granddaughters Kimberly Mantch of San Ramon and Lisa (Scott) Hill of Dublin, grandchildren Alyssa "Allie" Goldberg, Garret Hill and Natalie Hill, stepchildren John (Judy) Campbell of Pleasanton and Donna Campbell of Carson City, NV, step-grandchildren Marcello Rostagni of Reno, NV and Angela Rostagni, and great grandson Gabriel Moro, of Carson City, NV. Also mourning her loss are her sisters Lillian Warboys of Carson City, Nevada, Tillie Priest and Violet Holleyman of Lodi, and Shirley (Dave) Holleyman of Stockton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to her Comfort Keeper caregivers who brought love and comfort to Olivia during her final months, and to the staff at Hospice of the East Bay.
Olivia's ashes will be interred next to the remains of Edwin at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in a private family service. A Celebration of Life service is being planned for a later date.
