Philip Leonard McClure passed away peaceably in his sleep on March 7, 2013. He was born in Sacramento, CA, and attended Sacramento High School where he met his future wife, Barbara Jean Carter. He attended the University of California at Berkeley where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. World War II interrupted his university studies when he volunteered for the Army Air Corps, became a B-25 pilot, and flew 59 combat missions in the Mediterranean Theatre. Upon graduating from Cal, Phil went to work for Wells Fargo Bank where his career spanned 42 years, retiring in 1982 as a Vice President and District Manager. He was an avid golfer, and also a well respected domino and bridge player. Phil was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara (2000), daughter Karyn McClure (1994), and just a day after his passing the death of daughter Lynn Richard (Loomis, CA). He is survived by a sister, Bernice Tuller (Columbus, Ohio), a sister-in-law, Emmi McClure (Sacramento, CA), and his remaining children, Stephen McClure (Lafayette, CA), Susan Meadors (Moraga, CA), Bryan McClure (Concord, CA), and Robyn McClure (Antioch, CA). Additionally, he is survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Family and friends are invited to a memorial mass on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Moraga, CA. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall.
