Richard Rude Obituary

Richard (Rick) Rude May 30, 1947 - Feb. 26, 2010 Resident of San Pablo Rick was proud to serve his country with 2 tours in Vietnam with the U.S Army. After Vietnam Rick continued to serve as a reservist and retired after 30 years of serving his country. Rick spent 20 years at the UC Theater before it closed as a projectionist with IATSE local #169. As an avid union member he spent much time on picket duty after he retired. Rick was with ATU local 192 as a bus driver for AC Transit. Rick enjoyed being a building manager and maintainence for the Rollingood Recreation Center in San Pablo for many years. Rick grew great pleasure volunteering with his veteran groups in Martinez and AA groups from El Cerrito to Esparto working with H & I going to prisons to share the word. Rick spent many years working with his great nephew, Tony in the pool and at Solano College. Rick enjoyed skin diving and sky diving. His last jump was in 2009 with his niece Eileen who he thought of as his daughter. Rick is survived by his wife of 38 years, Charlotte; his sisters, LeAnn Rich of Iowa, Deborah Stapinski of Vallejo, Cathy Schular of Oregon, Robin Siegel of Vacaville; his brother-in-law, Raymond Crosetti of Oakland; nieces, Eileen Ricci, Sophia Crosetti and Cathy Robinson; nephews, Ken Ricci, Rene Crosetti, Cory and Eric Siegel, Nate, Tony and Jammie Schular, Brian and Chuck Rich; great-nephew and niece, Tony Ricci and Samantha Ricci. Military services for Rick will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 12:30pm at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Rd., Santa Nella, CA 95322. Rick's sister, Roslyn (Sue) Sallers will be interned at the same time. All are welcome. There will be a remembrance celebration on Saturday, March 20th at 11:00am at Rollingwood Recreation Center, 2395 Greenwood Dr., San Pablo 94806. Remembrances spoken or written are encouraged by all.

Richard. I was thinking of you today and find you here tonight. Easter Hill Pals, Army Brothers, I havn't seen you around the Martinez VA Facility for a year or so. You and your Brother Rusty were good friends of mine and i'll see you soon. HOOAH!
