Rodney Pierce Obituary
Rodney Pierce April 22-1966 - May 11, 2012 Resident of San Ramon Rod Pierce, respected Hayward Police Officer, passed away on May 11, 2012 at the age of 46. He was born and raised in Hayward, CA and settled in San Ramon with his wife and children. He graduated from Hayward High in 1984 and will be honored with a masters degree in Public Administration from Cal Sate East Bay this month. Rod is survived by his wife, Susan, his mother Ruth (Bolar) Pierce, his sister, Debbie, his sons; Blake, Billy, Joey, stepson Seth and a large extended family including uncles; Marty, Jim and Bill Bolar and Aunt Vickie Chapman. Among many things, Rod loved sports. He played baseball since little league, was inducted in the Chabot Hall of Fame and continued to play on the San Leandro Old Timers League. Every year he looked forward to the annual family camping trip. Rod was above all a devoted father and family man. We will miss him. A memorial service will be held on Friday the 18th at 11:00 AM at the Chabot College Campus. A celebration of his life ceremony will be held at the Veterans Hall in Hayward, CA immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pierce Family c/o HPOA (Hayward Police Officers Association) 300 West Winton Avenue. Hayward, CA 94544.
