Ronald D. Hillman Resident of San Pablo Born on June 27, 1939 in St Paul, Minnesota, passed away on June 23, 2009 peacefully at home from brain cancer. He moved to California in 1957, served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea and worked as a switchman and yardmaster for the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads for 37 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, fishing trips, classic cars, antiquing, and growing orchids. He is survived by Dory, his wife of 44 years, son Ron Jr. of Sacramento, and daughter Kristina Hillman of Oakland. He is also survived by sisters Lynda Torres, Nancy Bernier, Kris Marchessault, Kathy Hillman, and his Aunt Beth Sorensen. He is further survived by a large extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Philip Hillman, mother Bernice Becker, step-father John Becker and brother Robert Hillman. The viewing will be Monday, June 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Angel's at St Joseph's Cemetery in San Pablo. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Pinole.
