Scott Don Smith Resident of Martinez Scott Don Smith, born March 30, 1946, died suddenly on August 20th at age 66 of heart attack while riding his bicycle. At the time of his death he was happily living with his daughter, Rebecca (Shawn) with grandsons Colby and Logan. He was affectionately called "Grandpa" by the neighborhood. He graduated from Washington University with a doctorate in dental surgery. He established a dental practice in Chico and Westwood, CA after serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Evelyn Pritchard who passed early leaving him with two children Benjamin Don Smith (Kathy) and Rebecca Magnon St.Germain (Shawn) Married JoAnna Benner (divorced), Kimberly Phillips (divorce). Children: Bradley Nathan Smith and adopted sons Jeremy Michael Smith and Christopher Lawrence Smith. Other children he cared deeply about were connected to his spouses: Lewis Jay Smith, Leanne Marie Ross and Lori Anne Brundage. Scott served a 2 year LDS Church Mission in Uruguay & Paraguay. He was the first-born son of Venna Jensen Smith (survivor) and Don Robert Smith preceded him in death this year. Siblings: Tyler J. Smith (Geri), Kim C. Smith (Deanna), Mark O. Smith (Ruth), Crystal Smith Sandberg (Ford), and Jan Smith Petty (Ralph). He loved singing and playing guitar. He later discovered the flute which he always wore around his neck and enjoyed performing often. Plans include a memorial service on Saturday the 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel. The Chapel is at 940 Palisade Dr., Martinez, CA. His remains will join the beloved gravesite of Evelyn in Chico, CA. on Saturday the 25th at 3:30pm.
