Theodore "Ted" Patrick Lynch Resident of Pleasant Hil On Ted's 75th birthday his family and friends gathered from all over the country to celebrate at the Pleasant Hill cohousing community he helped co-found. What a wonderful last birthday Party. Born August 15, 1936 in Hamilton, Montana, Ted was second of 7 kids. Ted was a civil engineer at Alameda County Water District for 30 years. A longtime active member of Unity of Walnut Creek, he served as Board President and volunteered in many other church positions and activities. Ted especially enjoyed reading and dancing. Ted passed at home on July 28th. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara, co-founder of the cohousing community where they resided, his son Michael Lynch, two stepsons, Brady & Andy Mahler, and five Lynch siblings: Mary, Carol, Bob, Don & Larry. Ted will be remembered for his strong, kind, gentle presence and his commitment to being an instrument of peace and service to others. He was authentic, witty and clever with words. We will hold his memory and light spirit with reverence. A celebration of Ted's life will be held at Unity of Walnut Creek, 1871 Geary Rd. on August 11, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Monument Crisis Center in Ted's name.
