Resident of Brentwood
Vicki Ellen Lloyd Bacciocco passed away peacefully Saturday, November 9, 2013 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She touched many lives through her faithful example and fun loving outlook on life.
Vicki was born in Burlingame, California, raised in Fremont, California, and graduated from Irvington High School in 1976. She married the love of her life, Tom Bacciocco, on March 18, 1977 in the LDS Oakland Temple. She spent many years as a stay-at-home mom raising their 3 daughters. Her greatest joy in life came from being with her family. She loved being a mom and some of her most cherished memories came from being a grandma.
Education was always an important aspect of Vicki's life. Her love of learning continued throughout her life as she pursued her Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies from Cal State Hayward in 1988 and later earned her Masters Degree in Administration from Brandman University in 2011. Her 18 year teaching career was spent at Freedom High School in Oakley, CA, where she taught History, Psychology, and AP Psychology. She shared her love of learning and inspired her students to reach beyond their potential. She was more than just a teacher, she was a mentor and a friend.
When Vicki wasn't teaching, she loved to travel, shop, and spend time with friends. Vicki would jump at any chance to spend time with her grandkids, attending baseball games, soccer matches and planning family trips to Disneyland. She loved a good bargain and was a devoted Macy's shopper. She would never turn down a lunch date for chips and queso and chocolate molten cake at Chili's. She lived life to to the fullest and treasured making memories with those she loved.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including Young Women's President and Sunday School Teacher. Vicki had a strong testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ and exemplified faith in the many challenges she faced in her life, including the loss of her youngest daughter and her 3 battles with cancer. Even in the final months of her life, she bore witness to her family and friends of our Heavenly Father's love for her throughout her life.
Vicki is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Tom Bacciocco; loving daughters Kelli Jeffs (Justin) of Brentwood and Jill Mendoza (Mark) of Gilbert, AZ, and 6 adoring grandchildren: Parker, Haylee, Emma, Tyler, Spencer, and Molly. She is also survived by her parents, Gordon and Karen Lloyd of Brentwood and her siblings Scott Lloyd (Cathy), Jeff Lloyd (Maggie) and Kari Airth (Christian). She is preceded in death by her sweet daughter, Lauren Ellen Bacciocco. Vicki's legacy of faith, service, love, fun, and family will continue to live on in the lives of those she has known. This world is a better place because of her.
Family, friends, co-workers, and students are invited to celebrate Vicki's life at a memorial service in her honor, 11 am, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the LDS Antioch Stake Center on 2350 Jeffery Way in Brentwood.Offer condolences at oakparkhillschapel.com
