Warren E. Rupf April 10, 1943 - Aug 9, 2012 Resident of Martinez Warren passed away peacefully on August 9th after a short battle with leukemia. A 60 year resident of Contra Costa County, Warren graduated from Clayton Valley High School in 1960; the following year he joined the US Marine Corps where he served honorably for over 4 years. Upon discharge from the Marines, he was hired as a Deputy Sheriff for Contra Costa County. During his 45 year career with the Sheriff's Office, he held every rank from Deputy to Assistant Sheriff. He was appointed Sheriff-Coroner in 1992; he was elected in 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2006. He retired on January 3, 2011. Warren enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling the world with family and friends, caring for his grandchildren, spending time with family at their ranch in Red Bluff and sharing stories and a good cigar with his loyal friends. Warren is survived by: his wife, Carole; daughter, Barbara (Bob) MacDermott; sons, David (KC) Rupf, Rick Silva, Paul (Cyndi) Silva; eight grandchildren, Josh and Mykka MacDermott, Chauncey and Caleigh Rupf, Joseph, Regan, Erin and Ryan Silva; great-grand children, Caden and Talon MacDermott; brothers, Keith (Gayle) Rupf, John (Lan) Rupf and Paul Rupf. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 199 Brandon Road, Pleasant Hill.
