Resident of Alamo

Dr. Joseph K. Buchanan, 62, passed away peacefully at his home in Alamo, CA.
A native of Norfolk, Virginia, he and his family lived in South Africa for the first four years of his life. Stateside, they lived on the east coast, eventually settling in Chevy Chase, MD.
Joe graduated from University of Maryland Dental School and then continued his specialty training in orthodontics at University of California, San Francisco. For the last 25 years, he led a thriving orthodontic practice in Vallejo and Benicia. He always said he had the best job in the world, creating beautiful smiles.
Joe was happiest spending time with his family, following his favorite sports teams, reading and exercising. He will be remembered for his devotion to work and family, his graciousness and generosity.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Deborah and sons, Jack and Connor of Alamo. He is also survived by his sister Pam (Judd) Weisberg of New York. He leaves behind his nieces Renee (Chris) Porter, Eva Buchanan and nephew Jordan Buchanan all of Denver, CO. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews- Emelie, Jimmy, Elise and Thomas Porter. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Eileen Buchanan and his brother, James Buchanan.
A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held at the Oak Hill Park in Alamo on Sunday, March 9th at 12:00 Noon.
