Emma passed away peacefully at the grand age of 94 ½. She was very active until several months ago when she suffered a heart event and was admitted to Apple Valley Post Acute Rehab nursing facility in Sebastopol.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Edward Pogue who was killed while fighting in WWII, her second husband Lawrence Grondona who passed away on May 26, 1982 and by her sister Marie Martina.
In recent years she was very active with her fellow residence at the Altamont Senior Apartment Complex in Rohnert Park and enjoyed Bingo, a card game called "Oh-Hell", going to the senior center and walking with her walker throughout the halls of the complex.
Emma is survived by her five loving children Ed Grondona, Robert Grondona, Barbara Sunseri, Toni Ramos and Patti Bernardino, 8 grandchildren and 7 ½ great grandchildren.
The family is grateful for the end of life support provided by Hospice by the Bay and Apple Valley Post Acute Rehab of Sebastopol.
There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday March 8, 2014 @ 11:00 am at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA
