Ruth gently passed away at home with her children by her side. Born in Berkeley, CA to Grace and Frank Ransom. She married her high school sweetheart, Neil Frank Thrams July 10, 1949. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley in Music 1948, where she belonged to sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi. She was a member of Oakland Children's Hospital Laurel Junior Branch, Women's Board Oakland Museum, Altar Guild of Montclair St. John's Episcopal Church, Orinda Garden Club of America, Orinda Valley Garden Club, Orinda Friends of Hospice, Orinda Book Club, and eight different bridge groups.
Ruthie loved and adored her family and friends. She especially loved playing golf with Neil at Orinda Country Club and in Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain, and Hawaii. She loved all her golf partners, all her bridge partners, music from country to opera, horses, gardening, reading, knitting and travel, she loved nature, especially Lake Tahoe, and the color green. She loved this beautiful Life. Most of all, she was so proud of her family for bringing artistic beauty to this world. Her graceful ways will be missed forever.
Her beloved Neil preceded her in death last year. Ruth is survived by her two children Andie Thrams (Dennis Eagan) and Brent Thrams (Andrea Kincaid), one precious grandchild Piper Thrams, sister June Hannon, niece Stacy Frawley (Rick Frawley), nephew Ransom Stephens (Karen Graber), cousins Gini and Bruce Harter.
A service of remembrance will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Orinda July 11 at 3:00 PM. A celebration of life to follow at Orinda Country Club at 4:30 PM. Gifts of remembrance may be made to Hospice of the East Bay or
