Barbara J. Henderson, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt passed away on Friday, August 1st after a long and courageous battle against breast cancer. Born in Calico Rock, Arkansas on August 25, 1930 and raised in Ava Missouri, the Southern/Midwest native moved to Northern California as a teen. She met her husband, Robert, in San Leandro and they were married for 58 years before he passed away in May 2007. Both were longtime residents of San Leandro and owned a dry cleaning business, Henderson Cleaners, in the town where they raised their family. For the last 3½ years, Barbara had enjoyed residing at Montecito Oakmont Senior Living in Concord. Barbara always had a positive attitude, loved to travel, watch TV, spend time with family, and babysit her much adored Siberian Husky granddog, Pilot. Barbara is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte & Ray Million of Penn Valley, son Michael Henderson of Pleasanton, daughter Patti Martinez of Concord, granddaughter Renee Martinez of Martinez, grandson Jason Henderson of Manteca, great-granddaughter Kaeleigh Moore of Portland, Oregon, nephew and niece Mark & LaRene Kidd of Pleasanton, nephew Doug Kidd of Castro Valley, nephew Chris Million of Lodi and nephew Glenn Million of Oregon. Per Barbara's request, no funeral services will be held. Private inurnment at Santos Robinson Mortuary in San Leandro. In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be made to a .
