Peter Lopez Sunrise 1925 ~ Sunset 2010 Resident of Antioch Pete was born to Miguel and Antonia Lopez in Planada, California. He was a lifelong Californian. He attended schools in Pittsburg until joining the Navy and serving during World War II. He was always involved in this community that he loved. He was a member of the Pittsburg Historical Society, as well as the Antioch Historical Society. Pete was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He proudly served his community on the City Council and as Mayor. He was married to Opal Tarpley Lopez for 35 years until her death in 1983. Pete and Opal had a daughter, Donna Lindborg (Ed), and a son, Steven Lopez (Lori). He was estranged from his son Mitchell. He was a beloved brother to Miguel Lopez, Jr., Isabel Wallace, Manuel Lopez, and Antonio Lopez. He was also loved by his former wife Betty and her loving family. They are Stephanie Weatherly, Liz Ridolfi, Jeanne Romo (Robert) and Joann Villarreal (Ed). Many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were loved by Pete. He had a wonderful impact on many lives and will be painfully missed. A Life Celebration will be at a later date.
