Sharon Olson 1938 ~ 2011 Resident of Walnut Creek Sharon died peacefully at her home of respiratory complications on April 4, 2011. Sharon was born in Nashville, Tennessee, August 20th, 1938 the middle of three children to Ordway Clark and Rubye Mae Inman, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Isaac Litton High School in Nashville. In 1956 Sharon married Dennis Alvin Olson, a newly commissioned Naval Aviator from Cleveland, TN. Sharon met Dennis through her brother Ronald, also a Naval Aviator. Sharon considered herself blessed with 52 years of marriage to Dennis who preceded her in death. Sharon and Dennis Olson traveled the country as the U.S. Navy changed Dennis' duty assignments frequently. Sharon's favorite station was on Oahu in Hawaii. Sharon and Dennis settled in Walnut Creek in 1972. She was a Navy Wives Club member, and gave generously of her time to Navy Relief, and she served as a Red Cross Volunteer. Sharon was employed as a CNA for over 30 years in the LaMorinda and Walnut Creek areas. She is survived by her three sons and two daughters-in-law Edward A. Olson and Maureen of Gilroy, CA; Eric C. Olson and Traci of Walnut Creek, CA; and Evan K. Olson of Bonita Springs, FL. Sharon's sister, Marcia Campey, resides in Nashville, TN. Sharon adored her five grandchildren Marianna Robbins and husband Ben, Cody, Eric, Danielle and Tyler Olson. Sharon was a member of Saint Matthew Lutheran Church, 399 Wiget Lane in Walnut Creek, where she was active with Early Risers, Ruth's Circle, Farmers' Market, and outreach reading. Friends and family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Saint Matthew on Wednesday, April 13th 2011 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, 875 North Randolph Street, Suite 225, Arlington, VA 22203, or to The Air Force Aid Society, Inc, 241 18th Street, South Arlington, VA 22202.
