John Daniel Burke Obituary
John Daniel Burke (J.D.) July 19, 1935 - Nov. 8, 2011 Resident of Antioch John loved life, always had a smile and a story, and enjoyed cooking for family and friends, especially his award-winning Firehouse chili. He gave 30 years of selfless service to Alcoholics Anonymous. He worked for Consolidated Fire for 32 years, retiring as Captain of Station 12 in Martinez in 1992. John served with the U.S. Army in France. John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dee. Son Daren (wife Nicole and daughter Emma) lives in Morgan Hill. Daughter Diane (daughters Alyssa and Autumn, and son John) lives in Vallejo. Stepdaughter Cyndi Black lives in Maui. John has two sisters, Juanita Swift and Barbara Foley, in Wisconsin where he was born; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 7th at 11 am at Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood.
