Millie Schneider Oct. 17, 1937 ~ Jun. 22, 2012 Resident of Concord Millie T. Schneider passed away peacefully on June 22, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. Millie was born in Glens Falls N. Y. and moved to Long Beach Ca. with her family at the age of 13. She was a 1955 graduate from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach and was a member of the badminton team which won the state championship. She moved to Concord in 1962 and started a 28 year career with Sears, at the Concord service center. She was a devoted and loving mother to her 2 sons Steve and Tim O'Connell both of Pacheco Ca. and daughter Colleen Parette Concord. Loving Grandmother to Kenna-Jean O'Connell, Fremont and Nick and Danny O'Connell both of Martinez. She was also survived by her brother Ray Bartlett (Phyllis) of Diamond Bar and predeceased by her late brother Art Bartlett (Collette). She also survived by 2 nephews Randy Bartlett (Cherie), and Rick Bartlett and her niece Stacy Bartlett-Renshaw (Aleks), and grand niece Bella Renshaw. She was an avid hummingbird collector and also loved to travel. Millie's greatest passion however was being a 29 year member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #384 in Concord. She served as their Worthy Matron in 1994 and then had the honor of holding the office of Grand Representative of Oregon in California in 2006. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of her life on Saturday July 7, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall located at 4349 Cowell Road in Concord.
