Obituary Condolences

Jerry Crane 1931- 2012 Resident of Danville, CA Jerry Crane, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the age of 80. Born August 11, 1931 in Nederland, Texas, to Ruth and Alson Crane. Jerry received a full scholarship to Texas A&M where he was a collegiate champion boxer and had the honor of membership in the University Corps of Cadets. Upon graduation he served as a First Lieutenant in the US Army stationed in Okinawa and San Francisco. He loved California's great diversity of people, ideas and geography and returned here excelling as an advertising executive enjoying the full-tilt "Mad Men" lifestyle in San Francisco. An accomplished sailor he sailed in the San Francisco Bay and the British Virgin Islands. Opening his own office, he was owner and publisher of ColorWorks Savings Magazine in the Tri Valley area where he enjoyed long-term relationships with customers and colleagues. Jerry loved his tomato garden, poker buddies, breakfast out, healthy living, exercise, and he was often seen at the Danville library returning and picking up armloads of books. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jean Crane, his three children from a previous marriage, Kelly Crane, Clint Crane and Carmel Crane and grandchildren Aaron Crane, Lincoln Crane, Sawyer Crane, Sheila Crane and Michael Crane. He is dearly missed by Jean Crane's daughters and their families, Vicki and Kris Govaars, Jane Burton and Jim Brennan, Sally Guenther, Tyler Burton and Jeff Sarpa, and grandchildren Tyler, Alex, Annie, Daniel, Sarah, Caitlin, and Jaxon. A memorial service and reception are planned for Friday August 3 at 2pm. St. Timothy's. Episcopal Church, 1550 Diablo Rd. Danville, CA, 94526. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
