Scotty died peacefully at home surrounded by family. Born in Thalia, Texas, he moved to San Francisco in the 1940's and is a graduate of Balboa High School. Horace was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army's 5th Calvary Regiment. He served the San Francisco Police Department for 27 years. Scotty was a founding member of the Diablo View Orchid Society, a member of BPOE and Contra Costa Mineral and Gem Society. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, especially to Giants spring training, fishing at Lake Topaz and Klamath River. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Beverley, sons; Michael (Sara), John, Kevin (Carol), daughter Patricia and 2 granddaughters, Amanda and Alexis. He is also survived by his sister Yvonne Miller of Galt, brother and sister in law Don and Judy Farro of Pleasanton, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Scotty will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Concord, CA. The Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11:00 AM at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to San Francisco Veteran Police Officers Association, Box 16627, San Francisco, CA 94116 or Kaiser Hospice, 200 Muir Road, Martinez, CA 94553
